Donation to the Fire Station

Smokey Paws is a charity supplying specially designed oxygen masks for pets during a fire. They are more effective on pets than the larger human masks, and increase the supply of oxygen from as low as 5%, to nearer 100% compared with the human masks.

In some areas all fire appliances are provided with a set of three masks but here in Oxfordshire, as in many counties, they are paid for by crowd funding or local donors. Sue and Martin Smith have donated a set for Goring Fire Station which was presented to Sean Absolom on 7 September, although they had been in place for some weeks. We understand that Goring has used human masks in the past with a dog and a cat being revived, much to their owner’s relief.
