Jubilee Fire Station

The fire station opened in May 1937. It was partially funded by money left over from the King George V’s Silver Jubilee celebrations in Goring in 1935. The King died in January 1936 and it was agreed to use the money to build a permanent memorial to him. This took the form of a new fire station as Goring Voluntary Fire Brigade badly needed premises to store their equipment. more...
