Fire hits the Victorian thatched Boat House in Goring

On Friday 23 February, Jane Stafford was among the first on the scene when the Boat House caught fire. The flames could be seen as far away as Didcot. She watched and waited, horrified, until the rescue fire services arrived at 9.45pm, and began dousing the flames which continued for another 12 hours.
